A humor and commentary web magazine where "Ivy League," "elitist," and "arugula" are more than just buzzwords.

Break Out The Oreos was originally founded in 2008 and run out of a Columbia University dorm room by a one-man writing team, with no real purpose other than to find silly things and make fun of them. Infrequently published, poorly designed, and certainly lacking of a coherent niche, BOTO’s creator finally got tired of running an aimless blog and set out to transform BOTO into something else: a humor and commentary website written by college students and devoted to irreverence, satire, and general snarkiness.

Since then, BOTO has expanded in both its scope and its personnel to become the online home of a uniquely witty and insightful network of young writers. Focusing on current affairs, culture, and unique perspectives, BOTO is updated throughout the week with articles, videos, links, and other media that, while spanning a wide variety of subjects, all aim to keep our readers entertained and smirking.
